This Plastic Free July, we are thrilled to announce our latest initiative: a local clean-up event in Lublin, Poland. Building on the success of last year’s events in Gdańsk, Poland and Ingelheim, Germany, we are thrilled to continue making a positive impact on our communities.
Coming together for a greener future
In celebration of Plastic Free July, IBB Hotel Collection proudly organized a clean-up event in Lublin, bringing together staff and community members to tackle plastic pollution. Spearheaded by our dedicated General Manager at IBB Hotel Grand Hotel Lublin, Michal Bienias, the event took place in the beginning of July and focused on clearing local parks and streets of plastic waste. Volunteers worked tirelessly to collect and sort recyclables, demonstrating our commitment to environmental sustainability. The collective effort not only resulted in a cleaner Lublin but also raised awareness about the importance of reducing plastic usage.

Looking forward – World clean-up day in Malta
In addition to our Lublin event, we are also planning a major clean-up effort in Malta this September, in conjunction with World Clean-Up Day. Collaborating with our staff at Cugó Gran Macina Malta and IBB Hotel Palazzo Bettina we aim to make this event as impactful as our 2022 clean-up. Unfortunately, we couldn’t organize the event last year, but with ample notice this year, we are confident in its success.

Plastic Free July is a global movement that encourages individuals, communities, and organizations to reduce their plastic consumption and waste. The initiative aims to raise awareness about the environmental impact of single-use plastics and inspire sustainable habits that can be maintained beyond July. Participants are challenged to refuse plastic straws, bags, and packaging, opting for reusable alternatives instead. By making these small yet significant changes, people collectively contribute to reducing plastic pollution in our oceans, waterways, and natural landscapes. Plastic Free July serves as a reminder that every action counts and that together, we can drive the shift towards a more sustainable and plastic-free world.
