1992: The birth of IBB: Damián Llull, a director of Riu Hotels, began the adventure of founding his own hotel company, starting with the acquisition of 20 apartments in a cove in Menorca, the island where the company has its headquarters 1993: IBB expands its portfolio with the rental of a hotel in the Cala Punta Prima, also in Menorca, having nowadays 10 establishments on the island. 1999: A turning point in the history of the company with the decision to take a leap to the mainland, with a hotel in the mountains at Viella and hotels in the cities of Vigo and Valencia. 2002: Sven von der Heyden became one of the shareholders of IBB Hotels by buying 50% shares of the company. This enabled the company to enter the Polish market, where the Von der Heyden Group has a strong presence, making it the first Spanish hotel chain to have a presence in Poland. The Grand Hotel Lublinianka in Lublin was opened. 2005: IBB began to operate in Germany with the purchase of its first hotel in this country in the city of Erfurt. 2006: With a presence in Germany, Spain and Poland, the company concludes the expansion plan for the rest of Europe. 2007: Opening of IBB Andersia Hotel in Poland 2008: Opening of IBB Passau Hotel in Germany
